Elevator Speech

The new AFFH rule that HUD is now executing, as of July 19, 2015:

1. Move low income housing to the suburbs
2. Use HUD subsidies (block grants) as blackmail against over 1,200 targeted U.S. localities (Douglas County is targeted)
3. Override local zoning laws and planning commission actions
4. Leverage the threat of legal expenses
5. Coordinate with federal agencies; the EPA and the DOT Federal Transit Authority (FTA)
