Federal Registry, December 31, 2015, HUD releases response on Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing Assessment Tool.

In spite of numerous requests for information, HUD refused to provide any status about Douglas County comments made about the AFFH rule.  Finally HUD graciously provides information, but was unresponsive until it was ready, typical of our 4th branch of government.  On September 22, 2015 Douglas County Commissioners made requests (see post) to for help to engage HUD to respond:

Senator Cory Gardner’s
Senator Michael Bennet (yes, spelling is correct)
Congressman Ken Buck
Congressman Mike Coffman

On July 16, 2015, HUD published its notice soliciting public comment for a period of 30 days, on a revised Assessment Tool.  By the close of the comment period on August 17, 2015, HUD received 40 public comments (mostly from public housing advocates). All public comments received in response to the 30-day notice are finally available and can be found at: http:// www.regulations.gov/#!docket Browser;rpp=25;so=ASC;sb=docId;po= 0;dct=PS;D=HUD-2015-0063.  Comments submitted by Douglas County can be viewed on page 2 (or here on www.affh.net)
